11 Healthy After-School Snack Ideas
The kids are finally back in school. Homework, sports, music, and all amounts of social activities have just ratcheted up by a factor of fifty. In this week’s post, we’ve pulled together some fast, tasty, and HEALTHY snacks using Mann’s veggies that will put some pep in your little ones’ afternoon step. The recipes are simple, and your kiddos can help you or make these on their own. From smoothies to dippers to gluten-free Cauliette “breadsticks,” there’s something here for everyone. Happy snacking!
Our Sweet Potato Ribbons add yummy sweetness and texture to just about anything you add them to. Roast off a couple bags of these in advance and keep them in the fridge to throw on a quesadilla, into a wrap, or just reheated and eaten plain.
Bump up the health and taste quotient of your standard English muffin pizza with some roasted butternut squash. Can we say “Yum”??
Every time I make these muffins, I am asked to share the recipe. The fact that they contain 6 SUPERFOODS is merely icing on the, er, muffin. These freeze really well – make a double batch and pull a couple out to thaw in the morning for after school deliciousness.

Yet another tasty way to use Cauliettes. Bake them into breadsticks, or shape one or two tablespoons of the mixture into tots and roast them on a parchment-lined sheet tray. I guarantee you, they will disappear before your very eyes.
Here’s another veggilicious baking project, this time using our Butternut Squash Zig Zags. Like the Cauliettes and Sweet Potato Ribbons, you can roast these off in big batches and store them in the fridge for several days until you need them.
Sugar Snap Peas with…Just About Anything
