7 Ways to Nourish Bowl Your BBQ

Ah, summer. Hopefully you’re enjoying the longer days, warm weather and perhaps a beach or pool. With grilling season in high gear, we thought you’d also enjoy a little inspiration about how to kick up the health quotient on some of your outdoor cooking favorites.

We love using Nourish Bowls for meal shortcuts (check out our Girlfriends Guide – Beyond the Bowl for ideas). They’re easy to prepare, delicious, and packed with tons of healthy Mann’s veggies – who could resist? For your next grilling session, try some of the following Nourish Bowl hacks to make your meal prep short and your relaxation time long.

Southwest Chipotle Chili Cheese Dogs

Chili Cheese Dogs – top grilled turkey dogs with a cooked Southwest Chipotle Nourish Bowl. Serve chips and guac on the side to really get into the Tex-Mex vibe.

Stuffed Mushrooms – remove the gills and stems from portobello mushrooms. Brush with olive oil, season with salt and grill to your liking. Fill the mushroom caps with a prepared Monterey Risotto Nourish Bowl, and top with grated Parmesan cheese for extra deliciousness.

Grilled Skewer Lettuce Wraps – lace up some skewers with your favorite protein and veggies and grill to desired doneness. Remove from the skewers, prepare a Sesame Sriracha Nourish Bowl and, using Mann’s Single Cut lettuces, create lettuce wraps with the contents. Drizzle with a little more sriraracha if you’re feeling spicy. Filling, gluten-free, and scrumptious.

Bacon Maple Brats – how do you make an already-epic pretzel bun brat even better? By topping it with our newest Nourish Bowl: Bacon Maple Brussels. Because everything is better with a little bit of bacon.

8-Layer Dip – got the neighbors over for a cold one? Give your usual 7-layer dip some extra oomph by adding Southwest Chipotle to the mix.

Boost Your Burger – give some ethnic flair to your same-old, same-old meat and bun. Mediterranean burger? Top your patties with Monterey Risotto and sun dried tomatoes. South of the border? Southwest Chipotle with avocado slices. Pure decadence? Bacon Maple Brussels and a slice of sharp cheddar. Your taste buds will thank you.

Monterey Risotto-Stuffed Portobello

Korean Flank Steak – marinate 1 pound of flank steak (or skirt steak) overnight in your favorite Korean marinade. Grill briefly, about 2 minutes per side for medium rare. Slice against the grain and serve on top of a cooked Sesame Sriracha Nourish Bowl.
